Summary: The room was what I expected for the price. Older furnishings, mis matched furnishings, odd arrangement of furniture. The windows are single pane so NOT energy efficient or noise friendly. The window next to the stove had a shear curtain that let in lots of light in the morning. I had to wait over an hour past check in time to get my room. The AC worked well however it was fairly loud. FYI, the door does NOT automatically lock like most hotel doors. You have to make sure you push the lock button before closing. I noticed a small sign st the front desk that stated they only clean the rooms every 5 days unless you want to pay $25 per cleaning (what happened to hotel standards?). Having said all that, the location is ideal to be in the heart of Waikiki. If you are not picky about a room this is a good find. Staff is nice but could be more friendly and welcoming.

Summary: Staff was always attentive and anxious to help. Hotel was currently under construction for upgrades but mess was kept to a minimum. Location was great. Hotel was stuck in past with furniture and bathroom fixtures being very old but the room was very clean. Enjoyed our stay and would stay there again. Only disappointment was parking. No parking at all. Had to pay for valet parking about for blocks away. For the week with tips it cost me about $1500 for rental car and parking fees.

Summary: We’ve been to Hawaii 20+ times and have family here. We were passing through on an overnight layover. Almost booked a great deal at a corporate high-rise waterfront hotel, but decided to save $60 and try this little throwback old-school spot. We’ve stayed at plenty of adventurous, quirky, vintage spots before—this was not that. Everything in the room (except sheets) was stained, filthy, or needed repair. The bathroom reeked like a dive-bar men’s urinal. There were small cockroaches in the kitchen area (fortunately didn’t see any huge ones). The pool area was piled with storage items. The maintenance guy was sleeping in the lobby. Even for one night, as a parent traveling with small children it was immediate hygiene triage: Don’t touch anything you don’t have to. Don’t take your shoes off unless you’re getting directly into bed. Don’t sit on the couch. And don’t worry, it’s only one night. We went out to dinner and brought a backpack with all our valuables—this did not seem like a safe place to leave a wallet or iPad in the room. Overall, the only nice things I could say about it that the person working reception was great, the location is terrific for walking a couple blocks to have coffee on Waikīkī, and it was nostalgic to look around the courtyard and imagine a time—many, MANY decades ago—when Oahu was a different world and this was a cute place to stay. But we would not stay here again, not even for one night, not for any amount of savings.

Summary: I booked a stay to be able to spend time with my girlfriend. The experience was nice as the room was bigger than we thought and it was very casual. Although, some parts like the bath was rusted with a part falling off and just some other stuff too. Other than that, we still had a lot of fun and enjoyed our stay and would probably come back again. The price wasn't bad either.

Summary: Absolutely loved my stay here! Perfect place for my solo trip to Honolulu. Clean room and bathroom with nice sheets, mini fridge and microwave. The hotel itself was very pleasant, laid back, and definitely had the island vibe not like the big chains. And with it only being 2 short blocks down from the beach it was the perfect location. Will be staying here again!
P.S. The food is amazing at all the resturant in and around the hotel. You're able to get a taste of everything Hawaii within a block

Summary: For the price and location it can’t be beat. But know you save on cost because it needs a refresh. If you are open and not picky on aesthetics or fussy this can be a good fit.

Summary: First impression:
It’s cute, close to the beach, and yes, it is severely outdated; but that is not the problem.
The staff is friendly and we checked in around 10pm on a Sunday. They did not give us any directions to our room so we were kinda lost, but found it tucked away in a corner. The windows are not windows, they’re like these flaps you can open and close so you can hear literally everything outside 24/7. Goodbye sleep. The air conditioner in our room sounded like a plane taking off. The shower was made for midgets, I am 5’4 and had to take the shower head and manually hold it to wash myself.
The whole room just felt dirty. The bed was very hard and small, we paid for a queen and got a full size.
The worst part for us was that 2 nights in, we began noticing what looked like pee stains on the bed. We requested housekeeping (as it’s by request only) and they said they’d get to it that day. That evening, we caught the housekeeping lady next door thinking she was knocking on our door and she said she’s too busy and can’t get to it. We asked for sheets and we’d change it ourselves, that ours are stained. She brings sheets and towels for us and I began stripping the bed and noticed that the top blanket (which is very rough, nothing was comfy about this bed), had pee stains on it as well as the mattress protector underneath. SO many pee stains, that it was literally soaking through our sheets the more we slept on it. We tried to be nice and just get through our stay;
