To ensure a transparent and smooth stay, please review these important details:
- Hot Tub Cleanings: We schedule hot tub cleanings ahead of guest arrivals. If the spa is serviced on the day of your arrival, it may still be heating due to the recent cleaning. If the spa is not hot when you arrive, please notify us so we can confirm the status with the spa service company.
- Nearby forest work: In conjunction with ongoing defensible-space tree-thinning projects throughout Tahoe Donner, the Forest Service is conducting tree-removal work on National Forest land adjacent to our property and other homes along the perimeter of Tahoe Donner. At times, guests may hear logging activity, and access to some Tahoe Donner trails may occasionally be limited.
- We can accommodate no more than 7 adults (over the age of 13).
- 1 dog allowed with payment of pet fee. Please review all pet rules prior to your stay. If additional dogs are brought to the property without prior approval, an additional charge equal to double the pet fee will apply. The pet fee must be paid prior to arrival and is specifically intended to cover additional cleaning.
- Mountain Life & Wildlife: Dust, pollen, and tree sap can accumulate quickly on outdoor furniture. The BBQ and some outdoor furniture may be stored or unavailable during winter, typically from October through May. As with any mountain home, occasional wildlife may seek shelter, so please help us by keeping exterior doors closed.
- Winter travel: A 4WD/AWD vehicle, chains, or snow tires may be required during winter conditions. Guests are responsible for monitoring road and weather conditions before and during their stay.
- Weather, wildfire smoke & other uncontrollable events: Mountain weather can change quickly. We are not responsible for circumstances outside our control, including poor air quality during wildfire season, winter storms, snow conditions, road conditions, or similar events. We strongly recommend purchasing independent travel insurance, as our cancellation policy will be upheld.
- Safety: The home is equipped with smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms, and a first aid kit.
- No Air Conditioning: Like most homes in Tahoe, our cabin does not have AC. Its wooded setting and cool mountain evenings help keep the home comfortable during much of the summer.
